John Ewing

I don't know if this information is correct, it might be another trombone player but this is what I found and which makes sense.

John Richard "Streamline" Ewing was a trombonist who worked with a number of major bands in the late 1930s and 1940s, including those led by Earl Hines, Louis Armstrong, Lionel Hampton, Cab Calloway and Jimmie Lunceford. He moved to California, where he became a freelance studio musician. He worked with Teddy Buckner from 1956 into the 1980s, and led his own band briefly in the late 1950s.

There are two John Ewings mentioned in the liner notes. One is a sax player who played on 'Twisting the Night Away', the trombone player played on the Night Album. It could of course be the same person but I am not sure. He also played trombone on many more sessions, including 'A Change is Gonna Come'
