January 3rd. Happy New Year Everyone!!. I was rummaging through my collection and stumbled upon a Dutch compilation called The One And Only Sam Cooke that I had never added to the page. So here it is!
December 26th. Someone send me an article in Jet magazine from December 24th, 1964 about the death of Sam Cooke.
December 16th. I was watching the movie The Ladykillers and noticed there were three Soul Stirrers songs: Any Day Now, Come Let Us Go Back To God and Jesus I'll Never Forget
December 6th. Indie-pop band The Shins, who released one of my favorite albums of 2007 with their 'Wincing The Night Away' apparently named it after Sam's Twistin' The Night Away. How cool is that!
November 25. It's not completely finished yet but I am happy to announce another small corner of the web dedicated to another great Soul Singer. James Carr is the singer of the immortal Dark End Of The Street' but he is relatively unknown. I hope that with this page things will change. So please visit!
November 16th. I was brought to the attention of a story about his death at the CrimeLibrary site. It's a long and sometimes incoherent piece but interesting to read nonetheless. The best part is at the end where there is an interview with Erik Greene, author of 'Our Uncle Sam'. You're not a fan of Sam if you haven't read this book ;).
November 4th. And slowly I keep adding stuff. This time the liner notes to the Dutch version of the '3 Great Guys' LP.
