Famous Records Releases

Not much have I found so far about Famous Records, it does seem that they released a lot of Keen material, not only by Sam Cooke but also other albums. The dates are also unclear. Record Collector magazine has them in 1969, while http://www.bsnpubs.com/keen.html has them for 1962.

Backside Text

Cha-Cha-Cha, up-beat, modern dance tempos are the thing these days . . . and so is Sam Cooke! Not too often do you catch Sam in an "up-beat" mood . . . belting out favorites that have a sting and bite to them. But, in this album, Sam comes along with some of his finest rendition to date . . . and almost all are within this vein.

Sam began to feel this mood after his eastern nightclub tour in which he found his audiences clamoring for more songs with "that beat". It is not often that you can catch Sam in this mood, since his first love is the spiritual, warn, and meaningful song . . . the song that goes to the heart. But, in this case, every vibrant beat is there, and Sam swings into a mood rarely captured on record.

If you like to dance . . or just sit back and listen . . . here is an LP for you! It's Sam Cooke at his up-beat best!
